Rainy day...

What do you do on a rainy day? I would say my boys are enjoying the peaceful steady raindrops outside.
I am enjoying the raindrops from the peace inside.  This photo was taken from the view from my house, and its a much better sight than our yard. I do like the upkeep of our wonderful neighbors, but I also wish I could return the favor of a view from their house. Inside and out, I'm wondering where to start.  So yes, a blog post...to rev up the motivation within.  Then to my kitchen.
As I work on perseverance, this is how I feel:
Trying to stay focused, keeping my eyes on the present journey, and hoping our Father is there giving me the strength needed for the task at hand, and smiling...

Sparkling Spring Carnival!

Gina, on the morning of the spring carnival, "Mom, it's sparkling outside!"
It was sprinkling.
The proof is on the window:
This was taken on our way to this young ladies' appointment to the orthodontist, as we zig-zaged through the neighborhoods dodging closed roads.

And now her mouth is 'sparkling' as well:

Later that day was our Annual Spring Carnival.
Spring: because it always seems to rain.
Carnival: because it truly is an exciting or riotous mixture of something.

Like when we were loading up to go, and half the kids ran up to the park to see if they could locate where the lightening hit ground with an array of fiery sparks during a previous storm.  And in that time, we missed our window of opportunity to arrive at the carnival dry before the next storm came through.

We were drenched, but somehow we survived the excitement
Well, most of the tribe anyway:
There is a reason one baby and two adults are not pictured.
Can we say, excitement overload.

Has anyone seen Mrs. Potato Head?

Umm, yes,
A Sparkling Spring Carnival

The wind is blowing...

So hard that this young man fell off his stool he used to prepare that yummy frosted cinnamon roll.
Or maybe he was just so excited to eat it!

He was NOT wearing that shoe that snuck into the background.
It would match though!

Raindrops on the Rooftop

I woke up this morning to raindrops on the rooftop.
What a peaceful reminder that spring is near!

"Let my teaching fall like rain
and my words descend like dew,
Like showers on new grass,
Like abundant rain on tender plants."
